I took the Multi 1200 on a little road trip to Indy then back through the Ozarks.
The first day was just a 'get there' day, so it was all super slab to Texarkana, Little Rock and St. Louis where I stayed overnight with relatives. 800ish miles starting at 4:30am and finishing up at 6:30pm. I guess I should've just went on to Indy and got the SaddleSore 1000 iron butt award accomplishment done and out of the way. The trip to and from Indy/St. Louis was again just a 'get there' operation on the superslab; 3.5 hours. There were plenty of unmarked highway patrol along that stretch and they're not afraid to use them; luckily enough already on others as I cruised by.
For the return I had enough of the superslab, so took a couple of days getting back with a detour through the Ozarks. The route I took was essentiall SW from Farmington, MO to Ozark, AR. Highway's 106 and 19 around Winona are quite fun with lots of elevations changes and mostly posted 40mph sweepers. From Alton to Harrison is some nice scenery, but the roads straighten out. Then there was 23 aka 'The Pig Trail' heading into Ozark. It started out about the same as 106 and 19, but got progressively tighter and funnerer. The overnight stay at the Oxford Inn in Ozark was a welcome rest from 8 hours through the Ozarks.
Ozark Southward back to Houston was much the same as the first day; long straight roads. Another road in the area was recommended, but looks to be much more technical than 23 is; Hwy 123. It'll have to wait for another time when the focus is nothing but riding and there are no time constraints.
