Awesome, I'll be going!  I think giving them an extra year buffer over F1 was a smart idea to work out the kinks...

I think it is more timing in that the track won't be finished until the middle of next year plus Indy still has a contract to host the GP next year.  2013 just makes sense.

Just saw the news myself on the BBC.

This is fantastic and we have it for the next 10 years (from 2013)!!!

I hope they schedule some track days.  Riding on a track used for F1 and MotoGP would be a hoot.

This is a wicked track!  Lots of complex curves, long straights and huge elevation changes.  Turn 1 is up at the top of a 120-foot hill just off the starting line.  Can't wait for a track day there!

For those that want to keep up with the latest on the track, Circuit of the Americas:

They have opened a second web site, straight from Adobe Flash Hell.  Slow, clunky and little content.

Yeah finally we get a world class facility in Texas.  I plan  on attending F1 next year.  Hell we could make it a group ride!?

Latest new is the Austin City Council gave final approval albeit with a bunch of greeny weeny stipulations.  More exiciting was the announcement of the Aussie V8 Supercar series signing a 5 year contract to come race at CoTA starting in 2013.

Awesome, I think I better start looking into hotels in that area.  I may be spending a lot of time there in 2013 with all these different series coming....

It would be great to make a group ride to attend F1 and then MotoGP!
